MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS
Two men - one supporting the other?
One perhaps lost his job over a letter he wrote supporting the other?
And the other?
Presumably, James Johnson should not, as Chairman of the BMA, have been defending a member of the BMA when that member was acting in the capacity of a civil servant, particularly at time when thousands of his members were seemingly facing unemployment.
Why, then, did he?
James Johnson is not a stupid man.
Presumably.
Is he a kindly, decent man?

JAMES JOHNSON, FORMER PRESIDENT BMA
James Johnson said in his resignation statement:
“In a statement to Channel 4 News Mr Johnson said that he wrote the letter to support Sir Liam Donaldson, the chief medical officer, who had come under “unfair attack for failing to give leadership over the MTAS fiasco”.
As a civil servant he was not in a position to defend himself, or to “apologise on behalf of the government for what amounts to a failure of policy”, said Mr Johnson.
“I wrote the letter to offer a bit of support. I did not consult others because it is not BMA policy to oppose the chief medical officer,” he said.

SIR LIAM DONALDSON, CMO, ENGLAND
So, James Johnson felt blame was falling on the CMO’s shoulders and he was not in a position to defend himself. Presumably, then, they were in agreement about something.
It is unlikely either man wants to see thousands of junior doctors unemployed.
Not before. Not now. Not ever.
Sir Liam is very, very silent.
Why?
Is he not permitted to speak?
Is he saying nothing because there is nothing he can say.
So what is going on behind the scenes?
In the corridors of Westminster.
The Witch Doctor thinks its time to get on the broomstick and find out!
With The Book of Spells and a few green bottles perhaps.
