(At least not till The Witch Doctor has sorted out the Green Bottle Spell)
This Green Bottle Spell is driving me mad!
It is just not working.
I’ve been flying on my broomstick up and down the corridors of power to find out why Liam Donaldson was getting such strong support from James Johnson when so many BMA members were apparently facing unemployment as a consequence of MTAS. Something did not ring true somehow.
The big green bottle spells are much more difficult to make than the little blue bottle ones. It takes many thousands of years of training, knowledge, experience and judgment in green bottle magic before a witch doctor can safely concoct these spells. It takes another thousand years to learn how and when to use them.
Witches have great difficulty getting to grips with the peculiarities of the human brain. Green bottle spells are used for entering these strange thought processes in order to understand human actions better.
This is very difficult magic, so there is scope for a few errors.
Yes, there is scope for a few errors. But this Green Bottle Spell is not working at all!

I am concerned that before I get this spell to work that Sir Liam is made a scapegoat for MTAS when the real problem is a government agenda that few people really understand. I think he fully undertands that agenda. Indeed it is in his job description to understand it and to see it through.
MTAS is a nasty dysfunctional red herring.
That agenda is not MTAS, nor MMC.
It is Modernisation of the whole NHS.
A modernisation system which is competency driven from Level 1 to Level 9 of the new common spine framework of the NHS. The single spine structure dictated by Agenda for Change where National Practitioners in various guises will dominate. The single spine structure which so far excludes the medical profession.
So far.
But not for long.
It is creeping fast.
Soon the medical profession will be incorporated into the great lumbering competency driven elephant that is the New Modern NHS.
The Witch Doctor thinks Sir Liam knows this and he is steering a very difficult course. A course which, after all, is his job.
The failed green bottle spell means that The Witch Doctor does not yet know whether he approves or disapproves of what is happening, or whether he is fighting a lone difficult battle trying to retain some medical professionalism and responsibility for patients in the face of a government hell bent on dumbing down.
Remember - Sir Liam consistently says we need more doctors. He is not the voice of The National Practitioners.
At the moment his voice is silent.
That is probably wise.
For the moment.
I wonder why this Green Bottle Spell is not working……..
