Medical women - being discussed at last!

MEDICAL WOMEN BEING BROUGHT OUT OF THE CLOSET

And about time too!

Since the beginning of this blog, and before that on other blogs, The Witch Doctor has been bleating that the main reason for the modernisation of the NHS including MTAS/MMC is demographic change. A change in which feminisation of the medical workforce is playing a major part. Yes, The Witch Doctor was bleating, bleating, bleating.

And is still bleating.

Bleating was appropriate because it appeared that Junior Doctors were being caught up in this like lambs going to the slaughter.

The Witch Doctor does not believe these juniors will be without good jobs in the long term, because this country needs them so much, however there are some rocky times ahead until senior members of the medical profession get their heads around all the implications of modernisation of the NHS.

Up till now their has been a strange naivity about this.

Now, there are other agendas of course, and although never mentioned in detail, The Witch Doctor knows what these are.

Probably.

There are probably three agendas.

Yes, Probably three. Maybe four. Maybe five.

One wholesome, one maybe and at least one not.

Anyway, The Witch Doctor is delighted there is now a formal government document which is beginning to address the problems that women doctors have in progressing through medicine.

It is a beginning.

But only a beginning.
