CREEPING AND CREAKING EVERYWHERE
Do you remember how we were amused when this Blue Bottle Spell first appeared, My Black Cat.
“Hospital at Night…..”
It travelled the length and breadth of the UK very quickly but it will never win the coveted prize, because it’s not spreading around the world.
It’s not catching on anywhere else.
Do you remember how we thought patients would be wheeled outside in their beds at the witching hour to look at the stars and the moon and the comets and the milky way and the black holes.
All the places we love so well.

MY BLACK CAT KEEPING AN EYE ON THE NIGHT
NAY
MY BLACK CAT GETTING A PICTURE OF THE NIGHT
And all we witches would fly around them on our broomsticks and cast spell after spell to keep the sick well until morning.
Just as patients were nursed outside in their beds in the sanatoriums more than half a century ago.
But we forgot there would not be enough staff around to push and pull all the beds outside.
Didn’t we?
Do you remember how we said that, as sure as night follows day, the concept of “Hospital at Night” would creep into day-time.
Hospital at Dawn…….
Hospital at Noon……..
Hospital at Dusk………
Hospital at Weekends……
Hospital at Christmas……
All romantic Blue Bottle spells too.
Less and less medical staff during the night. Less and less medical staff during the day.
It’s always amusing when some of the more trusting witches think we are being apocryphal, and we turn out to be right all along.
Isn’t it, My Black Cat.
Here it is……..
“Hospital during the day and night: The Hospital at Night team has developed as a multi-professional team providing care across a hospital site to cope with the unexpected needs of patients at night. This is now being extended to cope with similar problems during the day.”
We’re not often wrong.
Are we, My Black Cat?
But we didn’t think it would be the consultants that would be behind it.
Did we?
Get me The Book of Spells, My Black Cat.
This ploy will need to be reversed at a time junior doctors are jobless.
