Today the BBC reports that :

PLANS FOR THE NHS IN ENGLAND AN UNHOLY MESS SAY JOURNALS

The journals predicting the “unholy mess” are the British Medical Journal, Health Service Journal and Nursing Times.

Right now, The Witch Doctor does not have time to fish out these journals and read what they say.

But what is interesting her is the doctor who has been wheeled out or wheeled himself out to put in his tuppence-worth about the reforms.

Who is he?

He is none other than Dr Michael Dixon, the intertwingled doctor we elaborated on in our previous post.

“Dr Michael Dixon, of the Clinical Commissioning Coalition – which represents GPs who are piloting the changes – said he did not share the sense of gloom expressed by the editorial.

He acknowledged there were problems with how the changes were being rolled out, particularly over the powers being given to the national board, but accused critics of having “vested interests”.

He added: “It could still create a coherent system, but we must give GPs the freedom to make a difference. There is a unique opportunity here, we must make sure we grab it.“

It is interesting that a GP who consistently intertwingles himself with Woo to the extent that you could say he himself is likely to be a competent Woo Woo Wibbler, seems to be speaking on behalf of the Clinical Commissioning Coalition.

It seems odd too that he is speaking on behalf of GPs that are piloting the changes.

Who or what is the Clinical Commission Coalition.

Is it married to the The NHS Alliance?

Is it a cousin of Woo?

It seems it was the NHS Alliance that was behind the letter to The Telegraph. The one telling us that the NHS could be in peril if the HSCB is derailed by doctors’ and nurses organisations.

It is good practice when looking into any outfit to start with the “About” page. Then look at the Chief Executive and Chairman, President and other senior officers.

In the case of the NHS Alliance the Chairman is Dr Michael Dixon.

Clinical Commission Coalition : Spokesperson. (My Black Cat is trying to find out any other role Dr Dixon has in this organisation and how closely it is linked to the NHS Alliance. )

This is a name that is associated with another establishment that we have had our eye on for some time, My Black Cat. He has more interests than this.

Dr Michael Dixon is also Chair of the synergistic, non-tribal, compassionate, holistic, patient centred, non-hierarchical College of Medicine.

“There is a new force in medicine. A force that brings patients, doctors, nurses and other health professionals together, instead of separating them into tribes.”

Prior to this, Dr Michael Dixon was Medical Director of the “Prince of Wales’ Foundation for Integrated Health.” This charity was closed on 30 April 2010 round about the time it was discovered there was some kind of accounting irregularity. To our knowledge, Dr Dixon was NOT implicated in in these irregularities.

Apparently the NHS could be in peril.

“The NHS could be “in peril” if the government’s plans to overhaul it are derailed by doctors and nurses’ organisations, a group of GPs piloting the reforms has warned.”

NHS “FACES PERIL” IF REFORM PLANS ARE DERAILED.

The Guardian article does not mention exactly who these GPs are apart from the fact that they are already participating in clinical commissioning groups.

However, if you switch over to The Telegraph, you find they are a group of “senior GPs”

“The letter has been signed by 56 GPs who are helping set up clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) across England. Under the Bill these will effectively replace primary care trusts (PCTs) and be handed their budgets.”

Reading further, The Telegraph indicates who was behind the letter.

“The letter was organised by the NHS Alliance, which describes itself as “an independent non-political organisation proud to be at the forefront of clinically-led commissioning”.
