Is the escape to heaven closed?

JUST PRESS THE ESCAPE KEY!

Here we go again!

Missed this one!

My Black Cat has just fished this out.

SO YOU WANT TO WORK IN THE NHS?

The escape route from health-care assistant to chief executive.

PRESS ESCAPE…..

“Apart from clinical and scientific roles within the NHS, the sector also offers management opportunities. There is a well established graduate training scheme where successful applicants can choose to specialise in NHS general management, human resources or finance. Once on the programme it offers a starting salary of £20,000 and while it does not guarantee a job at the end, it is seen as the training ground for the NHS leaders of the future where salaries can be in excess of £100,000. One of its past recruits is the current NHS chief executive, David Nicholson.”

…….TO START THE ESCALATOR THAT WILL TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN

If, David Nicholson, Chief Executive of the NHS did it, so can you!

Oops!

Sorry!

My Black Cat has done it again.

Click on this site.

It is quite remarkable.

HEAVEN

The sun trying to break through the mist. Remarkable graphics……..

Also remarkable in that the route that David Nicholson took to become Chief Executive of the NHS is now closed.

So are the other two routes to break through to heaven. All three routes are closed.

“NHS Graduate Scheme”

“NHS Gateway to Leadership”

“NHS Breaking Through”

Closed.

All Closed

It might not be so easy to get from porter or health care assistant to chief executive after all.

Wait a minute…….

There’s another route to heaven for the chosen few………… It’s better in many ways, since its much easier and not so restricting. You can become a bread and butter consultant, rather than aspiring to the top chief executive post.

Foluke Ajayi is head of NHS careers and workforce supply at NHS Employers.

The Guardian reported:

“Ms Ajayi however points out that it is also possible to reach the top management or clinical posts by other routes because of the flexible career paths built into the NHS. You could, she says, to start your career as a healthcare assistant (with financial sponsorship and continuing professional development) finish it as a chief executive or consultant.

“She says: “People shouldn’t think they are stuck in the same role for the rest of their lives. You could start off as an assistant and then go onto a clinical role, usually with on-the-job sponsorship, maybe working part-time so that you can earn as you learn. It’s then possible to work as a clinical practitioner and go on to specialist or consultant level or you could decide to go down the management route instead.”

THE GREAT LEVELER

Yes there is another route to heaven:

The other escalator.

The Skills Escalator

The Skills Escalator which plans to elevate the few from the bottom to conceal the downward movement of the many from the top.

NET RESULT = movement downwards.

Yes, the “The Skills Escalator” should be renamed “The Skills Leveler.”

Shouldn’t it, My Black Cat?

Yes, from now on, we’ll call it “The Skills Leveler”

Maybe we can turn it into a “Blue Bottle Spell” and see how far it travels.
