The Botox Dentists

WITCHES, WRINKLES AND EMBELLISHMENTS

Body piercing and tattooing carry a risk of infection.

It would seem reasonable, therefore, that these activities are performed by GP’s who are very well aware of the seriousness of indolent blood born viruses and disseminated Staph aureus infection. Or, God forbid, a fulminating group A septicaemia! Rare, I know, but a possibility just the same – especially with the modern “wait and see” approach to early infections.

A TOOTHLESS WITCH IN NEED OF A DENTIST

If The Witch Doctor had an inclination towards these embellishments, there would be no trip down to the GP’s surgery.

Certainly not.

The Witch Doctor would not expect the GP to indulge in such frivolities.

Indeed The Witch Doctor would hand in her resignation to the GP since she feels tattoing and body piercing in the context of general practice are unprofessional.

Instead The Witch Doctor would make a little trip to the appropriate little high street tattoo and body piercing shop for this service in the knowledge that those operating there did not have a full understanding of the transmission or consequences of infection. She would suppose, though, that some kind of protocol would be rigorously followed. In addition, she would also keep her beady eye on every movement made by the staff during these procedures.

Fortunately, this is a theoretical risk because The Witch Doctor is unlikely to require any of these minor surgical operations.

Now then, BOTOX, is quite a different matter.

Just look at my face.

Click on the big picture if you want to examine it closely.

I hear you say I am in desperate need of botox.

It does not appeal to me very much, because botulinum toxin is one of the most lethal known, however I can definitely see where you are coming from.

So who will inject this toxin for me in order to make me unwrinkled and younger?

My GP?

No.

My dentist, of course!

Yes. My Dentist.

Why not?

Extractions, fillings, cosmetic dentistry.

Why not slip just a little bit outside the mouth.

On to the face.

Yes. Why not BOTOX?

Just thinking, My Black Cat, opticians could slip a little outside the eye and do a little BOTOX too?

Are they, do you suppose?
