A MINUTE COBBLER!
Do you remember the days of stiletto heels, My Black Cat? Do you remember when linoleum and wooden floors everywhere had millions of little round marks due to the pressure of the female frame being focused on such a small area. When you look back, it was wanton destruction of floor surfaces and feet.
We thought The Humankind had taken leave of their senses.
Didn’t we, My Black Cat.
Were there not “Minute Heel Bars” in every street where you could take your feet along with your newly broken stiletto tips and have them (not your feet – that was The Barber’s job), replaced by a nice man who looked like a cobbler and dressed like a cobbler and everyone thought was a cobbler but wasn’t a cobbler?
While you stood there waiting in your bare feet.
He just did stiletto heel tips.
He got rattled if you wanted brand new leather soles on your shoes.
Because, then, he could no longer pretend to be a cobbler.
Stiletto heels generated a lucrative market for The Pretender Cobblers.
And for linoleum manufacturers…..
Do you remember, My Black Cat?
