WHAT ABOUT THE RIBBONS?
The Oldest Sage Witch has been playing about with little ribbons while we were away.
What do you suppose she has been doing with them?
This one looks a bit sinister.
You think its something to do with Top Up Payments?
“National Health Service patients are to be allowed to pay privately for life-prolonging cancer drugs that the state does not supply.
Alan Johnson, the health secretary, will end the practice of with drawing care from patients who pay privately for better medicines in an announcement expected to be made to parliament this week.
The U-turn, confirmed by Whitehall sources, follows a year-long campaign by The Sunday Times.
The double injustice of denying NHS patients cancer drugs widely available elsewhere in Europe and then preventing them from paying for the drugs has also led the healthcare rationing body, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice), to review its method of assessing if medicines are good value for money. “
You want to know why the UK government has spent money on committees, and reports and announcements to parliament about a decision so obvious that any old witch’s cat could have given it to them free gratis?
But they don’t ask us, do they?
It’s due to the politician variety of The Human Kind, My Black Cat.
They have a way with the taxpayers money that floats into their piggy banks as if by magic.
Easy come, easy go.
The punters don’t hold them accountable enough.
We witches wouldn’t put up with our money being squandered like that.
We would be asking them to put a price on every simple decision that became convoluted and publish it in every newspaper.
The patients could decide whether the committees and reports are good value for money, especially when some medicines are being restricted.
