Good news about revalidation!

witchround

It might not happen!

That’s right, Revalidation might not happen.

According to Pulse.

COULD REVALIDATION BE THE NEXT CASUALTY OF NHS CUTS?

“Making revalidation work will require serious money, and some senior GPs are starting to question whether it will ever actually happen”

“Revalidation is, in other words, a done deal. It is happening, whether GPs like it or not – an inevitable, increasingly concrete feature on the future skyline of general practice.

And yet… some of the key elements required for revalidation to work are not in place, and GP leaders are beginning to question whether they ever will be.

Some senior GPs are privately beginning to question whether the Government – whether Labour or Tory – will be able to find either the money or political will to make it happen.”

PILOT STUDY OF REVALIDATION UNCOVERS “CLEAR CONCERNS”

“Exclusive: A GMC trial of revalidation has identified ‘clear concerns’ with the system, which doctors are believed to have found excessively bureaucratic and time-consuming, Pulse can reveal.

BMA chair Dr Hamish Meldrum is urging the Government to release the unpublished findings from the report to allow an ‘open and honest debate’.

Sources told Pulse there was nervousness within the BMA over the report’s findings, which could make it difficult for doctors’ leaders to maintain support for revalidation.”

“Dr Meldrum told Pulse that the pilots should not be a mere ‘window dressing exercise’.

He said: ‘We have to look at how we change the situation so it isn’t overly bureaucratic and excessively time-consuming. Everybody has to have access to the findings.

‘Particularly as we’re going into a period where resources are going to be tight, it would be counter-productive to take doctors away from their main role of seeing patients to spend a lot a lot of time on something that’s excessively bureaucratic.’

Pulse ends thus:

“As so often is the case, it all comes down to money.”

We would disagree, My Black Cat, wouldn’t we?

We would say it all comes down to “a waste of money.”

Yes. A waste of public money.

And time.

And wasting time costs even more money.

Although, My Black Cat, Revalidation might well boost the economy by employing companies large and small standing in the wings with their clever and ever helpful computer software and courses to facilitate this unproven exercise of collecting “Intelligence” on each and every doctor in the UK.

The medical equivalent of MI5.

Who can blame these small and multinational companies if they make a quick buck from the taxpayers money that should be earmarked for healthcare?

That is the real privatisation of the NHS that is going on under our noses but The Humankind don’t seem to be capable of sniffing it out!
