Murdoch, Murdoch, Brooks and NHS Privatisation

witchround

We did remind them, My Black Cat, not to take their eyes off the ball.

Didn’t we?

“We hope it is not diverting everyone from the proposed NHS reforms and the crocodiles in think tanks who announce the NHS should be abolished. We wonder how much back-scratching and cronyism over the years between politicians and multinationals underlies the NHS reforms.”

What better day than today to announce the decision to give £1 billion of our taxes destined for the NHS to private companies.

NHS SERVICES OPEN TO COMPETITION

“The government will open up more than £1bn of NHS services to competition from private companies and charities, the health secretary announced today, increasing fears that it will inevitably lead to the “privatisation of the health service”.

In the first wave, beginning next April, eight NHS areas – including musculo-skeletal services for back pain, adult hearing services in the community, wheelchair services for children and primary care psychological therapies for adults – will be open for “competition on quality not price”.

If successful, the policy, known as “any qualified provider”, would see non-NHS bodies allowed from 2013 to deliver more complicated clinical services in maternity and “home chemotherapy”.

Maternity services too maybe, My Black Cat.

The Madwives will have a ball!

It was predictable that the news came out when the nation was contemplating the two Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks and their interviews, and as an extra and no doubt unintended bonus, the interloper who somehow accessed the House of Commons Committee Room with a pudding!

So predictable!

Eh, My Black Cat?
