Pathways, journeys, mazes

What is that document you are reading, My Black Cat? The watercolour artwork on the front page is delightful. Watercolour is hard to work with since it is a medium that has a will of its own. The true artist allows the drips and runs and splodges to happen and and works with them. It is a wonderful medium but not one for the organised, perfectionists, or control freaks of this world.

Painting in watercolour is quite similar to trying to arrange tulips in a vase. They will always put up a fight with a controlling florist as they twist and turn in response to heat and light because they keep growing in spite of being rootless.

Watercolour and tulips are the anarchists of the artists’ world. That’s probably why The Witch Doctor likes them both so much.

Anyway, what is this attractive document about, My Black Cat?

It seems that pathways and journeys are becoming mazes.

Well, there’s no surprise there – we always said they would, My Black Cat.

Is it a conference about mazes?

It is about community mazes.

Signposts to the heart

Who is running it?

It seems to be run by NHS Scotland in collaboration with Camphill Scotland.

Do you think it will be interesting?

Indeed I do, My Black Cat. I think it will be very interesting.

Maybe The Oldest Sage Witch’s Highland Granny will gate-crash the conference with a gentle swoosh of the broomstick and tell us what is going on.

  1. Gosh I feel all warm and cuddly by merely reading the very attractive document – it has warmed the cockles of my heart. The Oldest Sage Witch’s Highland Granny must go – I need to know what it is all about…
