WHO IS ASSISTING WHO?
So, in the USA, “Physician Assistants” were brought in decades ago.
“Someone” in the UK is copying this for their own reasons.
The USA, “Physician Assistant” translates in UK jargon into “National Practitioner”
Note in the word “Assistant” has disappeared.
However it is re-introduced again as “National Practitioner Assistant”
So, in the UK, the equivalent of the USA’s “Physician Assistant” needs an “Assistant”
ie The “Physician Assistant’s Assitant”
When assistants need assistants, you can be sure the agenda is changing. A new career structure is being developed for whatever reason.
Not only are there the equivalent of the USA’s “Physician Assistant’s Assistants”, there are also the equivalent of “Physician Assistant’s Associates”. Or in UK terminology “Associate National Practitioners”
So, down the rungs of the ladder, the National Practitioners have two less qualified groups to manage. The Assistant National Practitioner and the Associate National Practitioner.
In addition, the National Practitioner can climb up the ladder.
To Level 6
On reaching level 6 they can become “Senior Practitioners” or “Specialist Practitioners”
Drop the word “National” throughout.
If the word “National” is dropped, then “Specialist Practitioner” sounds like a bit like a doctor. A very experienced doctor. And why shouldn’t it? These people will be doing much of the work that doctors do now. Presumably. Otherwise what else is there for them to do?
And climbing up to Level 7
“The Advanced Practitioner”.
And do the generic “National Practitioners” stop at Level 7?
The Witch Doctor thinks not.
The goal is in site.
Level 8 gives “Consultant” status.
The elite “Consultant Practitioner”
Not the Consultant Medical Practitioner as we know it at the moment.
Rather the “Consultant Practitioner”
“Who are they? What do they do?” wonders The Witch Doctor.
These, the Witch Doctor thinks, reflect the ultimate status of the shady “Health Care Professionals”
The occult heterogenous group living, for now, in the shadows.
The Witch Doctor knows about The Occult.
